LeDeG Midwifery College Charity Organization is fully licensed and accredited by the Education and Training Authority (ETA). The ETA rigorously conducts its institutional assessments to ensure the renewal of licenses every five years for all higher education institutions. In line with this requirement, we are currently undergoing the re-registration process in accordance with the updated ETA guidelines.
LeDeG Midwifery College Charity Organization is a Non for profit organization which trains rural disadvantaged girls from hard to reach areas of the country namely; Afar, Somali, SNNP, Gambella, Benshangul-Gumz, SWP, Amhara and Oromia regions.
It was founded and established in 2018 by Dr.Teguest Guerma a former WHO sen-ior staff and AMERF Director General who used her own retirement funds to construct, equip and man the college.
A college established as a charity that trains disadvantaged young girls from the rural and hard to reach areas to become midwives and go back and serve their respective communities and save live. The college aims to become a center of excellence which contributes to the human resources for health of the country.
LeDeG Midwifery College provides scholarships for girls, especially economically disadvantaged girls from hard-to-reach areas of the country.
It has established a maternal and health centre which pro-vides quality care at affordable price to the community at large. It is expected that this centre will make LeDeG Midwifery College financially sustainable as soon as it becomes profitable. 100% of the College's income will be dedicated to the sponsorship of girls from the rural areas to become midwives. These trained midwives will return and serve their respective communities.
